Lero - Irish Software Engineering Research Centre

Scratch News and Events

The 2011 UL Cybercamp was a great success this year. For three weeks in June, 50 students from 28 schools participated in 3-day workshops. The goal of the UL Cybercamp is to give students the opportunity to learn, use and experience new technology in a fun and engaging way and to make some new friends! Seventeen computing camps are being run around the country this summer at third-level institutions in an effort to encourage interest and uptake of computing subjects at third-level. During the UL Cybercamp students covered Scratch, Digital Music, Arduinos and Sensors, Robotics, Greenfoot and Electronics sessions over the three days. This was a great joint effort involving staff from Lero, CSIS, the ICT Learning Centre and ECE and lots of fun was had by all involved. We are grateful to the Higher Education Authority for supporting the 2011 UL Cybercamp.
